Meet The Soloists
Tenor
Glenn Marble
Raised in Downey CA by two teacher parents, Glenn grew up in a musical family with four older sisters. He found music healing and began with voice lessons throughout his young life.
Along with exposure to cello, trombone, and tuba in orchestra and band, Glenn's love for choral music came while singing tenor with his dad in church choir.
Glenn hass performed with the Kent-Meridian Jazz Band at the Seattle Opera House, placed first in singing competition on Korean TV during his mission to Seoul South Korea, and graduated from BYU's School of Music in 1993 with an emphasis in Sound Recording, before moving to Nashville.
Glenn currently enjoys being music coordinator at church. Since joining the NvCC in 2013, Glenn has found immense joy in challenging choir music and today he operates his home studio owner in hopes to release his own compositions.
Tenor / Bass
Scott Owens
Scott has been a member of the choir since 2013 due to the urging of his wife, Angie Owens, but sang in Handel's Messiah as a teenager with the co-founders Norman & Marilyn Tolk, years before the choir was officially organized as a nonprofit organization. In school Scott was heavily involved in band but has always loved to sing recreationally. He serves as thc choir's membership choir, but supports his wife in her role as President with whatever extras she needs. This is Scott's first year as a Bass soloist in the Messiah.
Bass
Art Peach
Art is a Franklin, TN native who grew up singing in church, school, and ensembles. He sang with the Nashville Community Choir as a teenager and is thrilled to be back.
His performance background is primarily in musical theater with favorites including Fiddle on the Roof (Tevye), Bye Bye Birdie (Albert), Seussical (Horton), and Footloose (Willard).
Art is a registered nurse with experience in emergency medicine, inpatient rehab, and radiology. He has three talented children and loves to watch them perform.
Bass / Tenor
David Kinman
David began his musical career singing alongside his family in the small farm town of Madison, Indiana. He then attended Indiana University studying music as an Opera Vocal Performance major. David sang with various musicians traveling the North and South islands of New Zealand providing inspirational messages for various cultural groups. David has performed background vocals in many studio sessions throughout Middle Tennessee and is currently employed as a high school administrator.
Alto
Joyce Fletcher
This is Joyce's debut as a Handel's Messiah soloist, a long time desire of hers. She has sung in numerous groups and productions since childhood--her favorites being the John Work Chorale, a Chicago based offshoot of the Fisk Jubilee Singers, and the Chicago Public High Schools All City Chorus. Joyce holds a bachelor's in psychology, a master's in special education, and a master's in school psychology. What brings her joy is singing, babies, and evaluating children to solve neurodevelopmental puzzles.
Alto
Janna Landry
Janna Landry is an accomplished vocalist, professional actor, keynote speaker and author. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance and has studied the voice extensively. Throughout her career in the entertainment industry she has a long list of production credits in theatre, television, and the music industry both recorded and live. She has sung in hundreds of clubs and theaters all over the country.
She enjoys singing everything from Americana to Jazz to Classical voice and can be heard on many studio tracks in various styles. Her Americana CD "You Shoulda Picked Me" is her legacy as a song-writer. She holds memberships in SAG, AFTRA, and AEA performing unions. She has taught private voice for over 25 years and continues to perform around town singing jazz and as a member of the popular Toto Tribute Band, "Child's Anthem". Janna recently published her first book, “Dazzle Your Listener” on the art of communication.
Soprano
Katie Riggs
Katie has sung with the Nashville Opera and Opera Colorado. This is her second Christmas season performing with the Nashville Community Choir. She currently teaches voice and piano and loves being the mother of five children in the Dickson area.
Alto
Linda Newby
Linda, mezzo soprano, graduated from Belmont University with a MM in Vocal Pedagogy and also holds a BA from Austin Peay State University is Vocal Performance. A professional vocal instructor for over 15 years, Ms. Newby has taught both privately and at the collegiate level. Her students have performed in various musical and theater productions throughout the state, and have received both Mid State and All State honors. Other vocal students have been accepted to prestigious colleges and universities for musical study.
Ms. Newby has performed mezzo roles in Die Fledermaus, L’enfant et les sortilèges, Candide, and performed in several other musical productions. She has also sung the alto solos for Vivaldi’s Gloria RV589, J.S. Bach’s Magnificat BWV243, and Handel’s Messiah HWV 56.
Soprano
Angie Owens
Nothing brings Angie more joy than singing, especially sacred music. She graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho studying Communications, but was heavily involved in the music program. Thirteen years ago she discovered the Nashville Community Choir and never looked back. It has become like a second family. She currently juggles her role as the choir's President with her role as a small business owner, wife and mother of six young children. Angie grew up a military brat, but claims Idaho as "home." That is until she was called as a full time missionary to Nashville and found a new home in middle Tennessee and has loved raising her family here for 15 years in Murfreesboro.

David Lee
C. David Lee received vocal training at Oregon State University. He and his family live in Donelson, Tennessee, and he is employed as a Senior Software Developer in the healthcare training industry. David ha returned to vocal performance following a 20-year hiatus and tbis is his first season singing with the Nashville Community Choir. He is thrilled to have found a welcoming atmosphere where he is able to indulge in something he has loved all of his life: singing beautiful music about Jesus..
Soprano
Heather Rains
This is Heather's first time performing as a soloist with the Nashville Community Choir. Although choral music is her ultimate love, she also has experience in musical theater as a performer, director, and choreographer. She currently directs a volunteer choir in her local church congregation and serves as Soprano Section Leader in the Nashville Community Choir. She enjoys life as a wife and mother to four beautiful children.
